Highlights

I bought this plane to finish my Instrument rating and use for business and pleasure, I shortly thereafter had the engine rebuilt at a professional aviation rebuild shop. I then upgraded the the radios to IFR requirements. Finished the ticket, took some trips and took up some other interest and let the plane rest. About early 2022 I started to revive it. Now it has been thoroughly revisited from prop to tail. All squawks and AD'S have been complied with by the on field Maintenance shop at HWY, SkyWorld Aviation.

This plane is as close to the way it came from Cessna in 1963 as one can expect. One could do more stuff but that would be ego not airworthiness.

AND it flies as fast as a new one WITH that 6 cylinder rumble instead of a sewing machine whine.

David Clark: A Story of Survival

I remember the drill like it was yesterday. Self-announce the 45-degree entry to downwind by shouting into the Telex hand mic, stow the Telex mic between the knees, power back, carb heat on and work in some flaps as the cabin speaker in the old Cessna 150 screeched with garbled combined radio calls from every Unicom within a 100-mile range. Those were the bad old days of flying without headsets, of course. Then I stepped up a layer in the food chain and blew my college partying wad on a David Clark headset and never looked back. I think my first model was the company's H10-30-you know, the set with the signature green domes, shiny mic boom and clamping pressure higher than a college-age teenager on a Friday night.

FLIR for FLIBs: Night Vision at a Price

There isn't one among us who hasnt felt the butt pucker of descending towards minimums on the ILS or approaching a blackhole airport at night when we know the obstacles are out there. What would it be worth to you to see the trees, pavement, towers, and even other aircraft in rain, fog, thin clouds, smoke and darkness? Several companies have true Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) that allow for special approach flexibility under FAR 91.175, but usually these cost north of $1 million
