One owner since new. Excellent maintenance since new. California based. Famous owner. Trading to a different plane. Complete logs, no damage. Turbo IO-550 engine, 185 kt cruise. The engine was torn down and overhauled 750 hours ago. The owner opted to "continue the time" rather than zero it. All he had to do to make it a complete overhaul was the fuel servo. This was not done, but it did get a new crankshaft and cylinder, turbo's and everything else that an overhaul requires. Call Nevada Aircraft Engines in Henderson Nevada and they will verify this.

The pilot had been conducting a series of spin entry and recovery tests, and had intentionally entered a fully developed spin. During the final spin, the flight controls were insufficient to recover, so he deployed the spin recovery/stabilization drogue parachute. After he recovered from the spin, he was unable to jettison the drogue chute with either the manual or backup system. He attempted to establish controlled flight with the chute attached, but was unable. He then bailed out. Initial examination of the wre...
